Seasonal Drink Poster Design for The Coffee Shack

Eye-catching and on brand posters designed for a drive-thru coffee shop in Campbell, CA to showcase their seasonal menu.

Overview

Each quarter The Coffee Shack comes out with around 5 new seasonal items. I designed posters to showcase their seasonal menu for customers to view on the window of The Coffee Shack while approaching the drive-thru window.

Problem + Goal

Our goal was to create eye-catching drink posters that showcased their offerings and ultimately helped drive sales.

Sketches & Process

Step 1. Photograph the seasonal menu. Using an iPhone 12, I would photograph the seasonal menu paying attention to lighting and shadows.

Step 2. Edit the images in Photoshop and remove their backgrounds.

Step 3. Talk to the client to find out if they have a pre-existing vision for the poster, any guidelines they wish to share, or feelings they’d like the design to convey.

Step 4. Bring the images into Procreate and start sketching out a layout and composition.

Timelapse Process Video

This video shows me making design decision in real time between choosing a typeface, to perfecting the spacing and composition. I worked to make the layout feel balanced, easily readable from a short distance, and informative with drink names and prices.
